Citizens of the Climate: understanding local realities of a global issue, a community climate crisis response from Wandsworth residents and local businesses.

As an individual, it is easy to feel lost in the global scale of the climate crisis. Focusing at a local level helps bring the issue closer to home and empowers members of the local community to act as Global Citizens. Citizens of the Climate brought local relevance and the lived experience of the climate crisis to citizens within the London Borough of Wandsworth.

Citizens of the Climate is a collection of personal written stories and audio recordings from Wandsworth residents on how they feel climate change is affecting the environment in which they live. Each story shares an individual perspective, building a collective narrative and response to the climate crisis.

The collection was created through workshops, interviews and an open call, involving numerous residents and local businesses. It was displayed online, exhibited in locations around Wandsworth (including Battersea Power Station, Battersea Arts Centre, New Covent Garden Flower Market, Patmore estate), and presented at Wandsworth Climate Forum.
